2023 Mazda CX-9: pricing announced

The Mazda CX-9 sits atop the company's SUV family. For 2023, it's still as complete and luxurious as ever. And affordable luxury, as only Mazda can offer.

Speaking of which, the company has unveiled pricing for the variants for the coming year. Here's what it looks like.

First of all, we have to live with the reality of inflation, which means that right off the bat, a $600 price hike affects the base model. The good news is that the value for money was already unbeatable, so the model is not affected.

The offer starts with the GS version ($41,550) and continues with the GS-L ($45,300), GT ($50,550), Kuro ($52,150) and Signature ($53,550). Each CX-9 is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which produces different capabilities depending on whether it's fueled by 87- or 93-octane gasoline. In the first case, power is 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. In the second case, it climbs to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. A reliable six-speed automatic transmission is still responsible for sending power to all four wheels.

In terms of equipment, let's take a look at some of the features that come with each model.

GS: blind spot and rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and pedestrian detection. Note that these three elements, as well as other safety features, are present with each model. The model additionally offers three-zone climate control, push-button start and rain-sensing wipers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps are included, as is a 10.25-inch screen for the multimedia system.

GS-L: Heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, wireless charging for cellular devices, power-deployable liftgate and 20-inch wheels. With this and the next model, you can opt for captain's chairs in the second row for an additional $500.

GT: LED front and rear lighting, hands-free tailgate, ventilated front seats, navigation, Bose premium audio system, head-up display, 360-degree camera.

Kuro: With this version, captain's chairs are standard. The interior stands out with its red leather seats and aluminum appliqués.

Signature: white or brown Nappa leather, second row center console, interior wood trim, LED grille accents, 20-inch alloy wheels.

Be on the lookout to find out more about the 2023 CX-9, as the model will show up at Mazda dealerships in the fall.
