When should I install my winter tires on my Mazda?

The answer is that you should install your winter tires when it becomes consistently cold outside and by cold we need when the weather outside dips below 7° on a regular basis. In other words, mid to end of October is a great time to have your winter tires installed.

How do I know if my winter tires are still in good condition?

Your tires are still in good condition if the tread depth is at least 4.8 mm, while a tread depth that is less than 4.0 mm indicates that it is time to replace your winter tires as soon as possible. That said, if your winter tires have a tread depth of less than 5.0 mm probably won’t last through winter and should be replaced now.

Should I get winter wheels?

Although it is not an obligation, getting winter wheels will protect your original Mazda summer wheels and therefore protect you from more expensive repairs in the future should you damage your summer wheels on a hidden sidewalk this winter for example. We would certainly recommend that you take a look at the available winter wheels and winter tire packages available for your Mazda. The price might surprise you!

How can I get the most out of my winter tires?

Make sure your winter tires are properly inflated to manufacturer specs at the beginning of the season, and check the air pressure regularly.
