Features and Specifications of the 2024 Mazda CX-50

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is an interesting option in the crowded compact SUV segment because it goes its own way in terms of design, capabilities, and features. Two efficient and dynamic powertrains

The first thing to note about the 2024 Mazda CX-50 is that it gives buyers the choice between two proven and capable Skyactiv powertrains. Standard in the GS-L and GT models is a 2.5L naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that delivers 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a cylinder-deactivation system that allows it to run on only two cylinders at stabilized speeds, this engine makes for a surprisingly efficient SUV that doesn’t sacrifice performance and off-road capabilities. Standard in the GT Turbo and Meridian Edition models is a turbocharged version of this same engine that generates up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when using premium fuel. In order to help drivers save at the pump, Mazda developed an engine management system that can allow this engine to run safely on regular-grade fuel, in exchange for a reduced output of 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Either engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and the competent i-Activ all-wheel drive system.

The CX-50 GS-L

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 GS-L is the most affordable version of the CX-50, but only its price could suggest that. Indeed, this trim level comes standard with a host of features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, LED interior lighting, a 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Mazda Connected services, a power liftgate, a power moonroof, and a 7-inch driver information screen, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and dual exhaust outlets, among others.

As with any Mazda vehicle, every 2024 CX-50 also comes standard with a long list of i-Activsense driver assistance features which include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision avoidance braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.

The CX-50 GT

Moving up to the 2024 Mazda CX-50 GT keeps all of the standard features found in the GS-L and adds distinctive items such as 20-inch alloy wheels, a premium Bose 12-speaker sound system, a frameless auto-dimming rear-view mirror with HomeLink, on-board navigation, a wireless phone charger, a six-way power passenger seat, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, memory settings for the driving position, a heads up display, a 360-degree camera, adaptive headlamps, rear emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, as well as Traffic Jam Assist.

The CX-50 GT Turbo
