Mazda Unveils the 2025 Mazda CX-70: A Fusion of Electrified Performance and Advanced Design
January 30 2024,
Mazda Canada has officially announced the launch of its first-ever 2025 Mazda CX-70. This vehicle marks a significant milestone in Mazda's lineup, featuring state-of-the-art powertrains, a focus on electrified performance, and exceptional design. The CX-70 is engineered to provide an engaging driving experience, blending city driving and lifestyle pursuits seamlessly.
Advanced Powertrains and Electrification
A cornerstone of the 2025 CX-70 is its advanced powertrain options. Built on Mazda's large platform, the CX-70 is designed with electrification as a core aspect. Customers have the choice between an e-SkyActiv-G 3.3L Inline Six Turbo engine with M-Hybrid Boost and an e-SkyActiv-G plug-in hybrid (PHEV). These options offer a balance between high performance and efficiency, catering to various driving preferences and needs.
Elegant and Athletic Design
The design of the CX-70 is a testament to Mazda's commitment to elegance and athleticism. The vehicle's exterior boasts a wide, low front fascia and a chiseled front end, creating an aggressive and dynamic appearance. This is further accentuated by black accents and the availability of black metal and machine-cut finished 21-inch wheels, enhancing the vehicle's stance even when stationary.
The interior of the CX-70 is just as impressive, with a design that feels spacious yet intimate. It features a diverse colour palette and high-quality materials like contrast grey metallic inlays, creating a luxurious and sporty environment. The Garnet Red Nappa leather option, with red stitch detailing, draws inspiration from the 100th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5, adding a distinctively sporty touch to the cabin.
Utility and Technology Features
Mazda's CX-70 integrates functionality with innovative features to enhance everyday utility and support active lifestyles. Notable features include remote-folding rear seats for easy loading and a specially designed rear cargo area with additional compartments and hooks. The vehicle also introduces a unique sub-trunk design for secure storage of small items.
In terms of technology, the CX-70 is equipped with new assistance technologies like the Unresponsive Driver Support in the Cruising and Traffic Support system. This emergency-only feature can decelerate and stop the vehicle if the driver becomes unresponsive. Additionally, the Trailer Hitch View assists drivers in connecting a trailer, and select models offer a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds, 1,500W power output, and other features to enhance utility.
The integration of Amazon Alexa in the CX-70, a first for Mazda crossovers, allows for hands-free commands, reducing driver distraction and improving ease of use.
In summary, with its diverse powertrain options, modern design elements, and a suite of new technologies, the all-new CX-70 is poised to meet the needs and preferences of a wide range of customers, setting a new standard in its class.
