Mazda announces full lineup of new sport utility vehicles coming next year starting with CX-50

Mazda will introduce a brand-new sport utility vehicle next month, the 2022 Mazda CX-50, but from there the Japanese automaker will only be getting warmed up. Mazda plans to introduce five new SUVs to the market in the next year, three of which will come to Canada.
Mazda will also bring two new powertrains, a new architecture, and will starting building more electric vehicles as well with plans to electrify the entire lineup by 2030.
The first new SUV to arrive on the market will be the Mazda CX-50 which will be introduced to the market in November. Production will begin as early as January and the first deliveries will happen sometime next spring.
The Mazda CX-50 will sit next to the redesigned 2022 Mazda CX-5 introduced last month. It promises to deliver exceptional capability with an enhanced all-wheel drive system, and will be designed for buyers who are looking for an adventure in their vehicle.
Mazda will then introduce a new three-row midsize SUV, the Mazda CX-90, later in 2022 followed by a two-row version of the CX-90 called the CX-70. Both models will be built on Mazda’s new vehicle architecture, and both will feature a new straight-six turbocharged engine. There will also be a plug-in hybrid version.
